Minutes of meeting held 16th July 2012 at Corner Cottage, Alderton 7:00pm
Present. Keith Page, Jim Hender, Roger Knapp, Jonathan Everett, Paul Smith, Bernard Gill.
· Keith Page reported that he had a separate meeting with Jenny Wilkes & Richard Walters (highways). Agreement has been reached to purchase and erect 4 sets of UPVC White “gateways”. Two sets either side of Frampton Cottages (and the Dibden Lane junction), the other either side of the Garage / Alderton / Gretton junctions.
· To achieve the gateways we have to apply for a “Cultivation Licence”, which would authorise the planting of flowers etc (in planters) which would allow the erection of the planters.
· Cost of the gateways would be funded jointly by the Parish Council and County Councils
· Any work carried out by local residents on the B4077 is now covered by the Parish Council insurance policy.
· The lineage of the B4077 outside the Cottages can be revisited when the road is resurfaced. It was noted that there are maintenance issues with red paint, so we are looking at other methods of marking the road in an attempt to reduce speeds by effectively narrowing the road. (Dragons Teeth).
· The signage to the caravan & camp site would be reviewed.
· CCTV cameras were positioned outside the Frampton Cottages for 24 hours. We are awaiting details, although early indications are that they revealed several incidents of speeding & overtaking.
· We intend to ask for the CCTV unit to be positioned near the Garage at some stage in the future, and can have access to a SID machine if we want (training and support is necessary).
· The members of the working group have copies of maps on which to annotate any thoughts regarding the gateway positioning and any lineage issues etc.
· Each member also to read the relevant documentation to come up with a presentation to the agencies (police, Highways, safety groups) in order to justify our application for a speed reduction.
· Next meeting will be held on Wednesday 1st August when the individual suggestions and findings will be collated.
